From one problem (two varieties with two diferent vintage date) we got a great solution: a white wine from very particular grapes, difficult to describe.
a+B Cepas Perdidas Blanco
50% Alarige + 50% Borba
This wine is obtained from a vineyard located in a village of 120 inhabitants at 601 m sea level. We recovered this vineyard after 5 years of work. Both grape varieties are are intermixed without any order in the vineyard, which in principle was a problem for the harvest thus different grape varieties have different maduration. We decided to harvest both varieties at the same time. Our winemaker is in favor of making the mixtures in grapes rather than in finished wines.
In winter, this vineyard has very special guests, herd of sheep that graze among the grapevines doing an excellent job of compost.
The vineyard grows on a slaty and poor soil. The harvest is made with the coupage, each variety providing its special characteristics to the wine and assembling during the winemaking process.
Type of bottle
Straw-coloured with greenish colour. This wine is clear and crystal. The aromas of this wine remember tropical fruits (passion fruits, peachs and pineapples) and a little touch of citric fruits. Fresh acidity and good balance.
Service and food pairing
Serve cold at 10/12°C (50/53°F). The ideal companion for appetizers and seafood in general, fish and white meat.
